Which products can Sub 4 be paired with?
Sub 4 can only be paired with an amplified, non-portable Sonos product. For more information on compatibility, refer to Sonos.
Can I connect Sub 4 to a third-party soundbar, wireless speaker or Bluetooth speaker?
Sub 4 will only connect to another Sonos product.
Do I have to plug in Sub 4?
Yes. Sub 4 connects to a Sonos soundbar or speaker over WiFi but still requires AC power.
Do I need to set up Sub 4 at the same time as my soundbar or speaker?
No. The Sonos system is designed for modularity. You can add Sub 4 at any time.
Can I hardwire Sub 4 to my soundbar or speaker?
Sub 4 will only connect to your Sonos system over WiFi.
Can I use Sub 4 with my passive/wired speakers?
If you power your speakers with Sonos Amp, you can use Sub 4 with passive/wired speakers.
Does laying Sub 4 on its side affect the sound quality?
The direction or orientation of Sub 4 does not significantly affect the sound quality. Placing the product in a very confined space, however, could affect the dispersion of sound and your listening experience.
If I have Sonos speakers in various rooms, will placing a subwoofer in the centre of my home improve the bass of my entire system?
A subwoofer will only enhance bass in a single room that's part of your Sonos system.
Can I have two subwoofers in the same room?
You can have up to two compatible Sonos subwoofers as part of your Sonos home theatre setup.
Can I use the Sonos S1 Controller app with Sub 4?
Sub 4 requires the latest generation of the Sonos app.
