What is the difference between Era 100 SL and Era 100?
Both speakers share the same acoustic architecture and sound profile. The key difference is that Era 100 includes built-in microphones and Era 100 SL does not. With microphones, Era 100 supports voice assistants and allows Trueplay tuning through Quick Tune on both Android and iOS. Without microphones, Era 100 SL cannot support voice assistants and requires an iOS device for Trueplay using the Advanced Tuning option.
Where should I place Era 100 SL?
Era 100 SL is designed to fit almost anywhere, including enclosed spaces like a bookshelf. It’s humidity resistant, making it suitable for the kitchen or a covered patio. To save surface space, use the custom Sonos Era 100 Wall Mount or Sonos Era 100 Stand.These accessories also work well when using a pair as rear speakers in a home theater setup.
Does Era 100 SL support stereo pairing?
Yes. You can stereo pair two Era 100 SL speakers or mix Era 100 SL with Era 100 in the same
room. Pairs can also serve as rear speakers with Arc Ultra, Arc, Beam (any generation), or
Ray. Era 100 SL will not stereo pair with Sonos One, One SL, or Play:1. See details at

Which subwoofer should I pair with Era 100 SL?
Pair Era 100 SL with Sub Mini or Sub. All generations of Sub are supported.
Can I experience Dolby Atmos with Era 100 SL?
On its own, Era 100 SL does not support spatial audio playback. For Dolby Atmos, we recommend Era 300. When used as rear surrounds with Arc Ultra, Arc, or Beam (Gen 2), two Era 100 SL speakers will support Dolby Atmos playback.
Can I use Bluetooth as soon as I plug in the speaker?
Not immediately. Era 100 SL must first be set up on WiFi using the Sonos app. After setup, you can pair a Bluetooth device by pressing the button on the back of the speaker. If the speakers are configured as home theater surrounds, Bluetooth is disabled.
What's the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi?
A WiFi connection provides the best listening experience, allowing you to stream lossless audio from anywhere in your home. Bluetooth allows you to quickly connect a phone, tablet, or laptop to your speaker and stream audio directly from the paired device — without the Sonos app but within a limited range.
Can I use Bluetooth with a stereo pair?
Yes. Bluetooth works with stereo pairs. However, if the pair is configured as home theater surrounds, Bluetooth and line-in are disabled.
Can I group speakers while using Bluetooth?
Yes. Similar to the experience with Sonos Roam 2 and Move 2, if you are playing content from a Bluetooth source, you can group Era 100 SL with other products in your Sonos system that are connected to WiFi.
How do I use Trueplayâ„¢ to tune Era 100 SL?
Trueplay on Era 100 SL requires a supported iOS device. In the Sonos app, select Advanced Tuning and follow the prompts, moving around the room while the microphones in your iOS device map the space.
Because Era 100 SL does not have built-in microphones, Android devices are not supported for Trueplay. More information:

How can I use line in?
To connect an audio device directly to Era 100 SL, use the Sonos Line-In Adapter and a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable (sold separately). Line in is disabled when the speaker is used as a home theater surround.

Can I use a third-party adapter for line in?
No. Most, if not all, of the USB-C to 3.5 mm adapters on the market today are intended for line out (headphones) and do not support line in. We recommend using the Sonos Line-In Adapter for a reliable connection.
Where is the ethernet port on Era 100 SL?
Era 100 SL does not include an Ethernet port. To hardwire your speaker, use the Sonos Combo Adapter, which provides both Ethernet and 3.5 mm line-in connections. These require separate Ethernet and auxiliary cables.
What can I do with the USB-C port?
The USB-C port supports line in and Ethernet when using the Sonos Line-In Adapter or Combo Adapter. It does not power the speaker and should not be used to charge other devices, such as your smartphone.
Which voice assistants can I use with Era 100 SL?
None. Era 100 SL has no built-in microphones and does not support voice assistants.
